Future Updates to Noticeably Beta 1.8
Some info on Alpha 1.1.0, closest larger update
The next update to Noticeably Beta 1.8 as it seems likely is
Alpha 1.1.0. In it, there are supposed to be an alternate
form to chests that can be used if you want them, which look
and behave much like the chests in earlier versions of Minecraft
Beta. In the mod they will be called "Box Chest". There are also
supposed to be updates to quality of life with placing slabs,
plus the ability to make a slab that can occupy only the top
half of a cubic block space.
Stuff I want to add later
Among the list of many things I want to add, don't know how
to so far, and will be greatly saddened or enraged if it turns
out I can't, are an Alpha 1.1 world type, Ultra Hardcore mode
(hopefully with extra commands to enable 2012 style SMP
tournaments), and the option in the new world screen to
generate your world with lava oceans.
Actually, try this table of proposed features:
= Features that I definitely can add =
- A new building block that provides another use for gunpowder
- Another flower that appears in generated buildings/dungeons, if I feel like it in the end
= Difficult to add features that I'd be pissed off about if I found out one day that
I can't add them =
- Custom commands
- The main one is a difficulty switch for OPs in multiplayer.
- An option to make all-lava oceans in the world creation menu
- A set of new paintings you can get, based on artwork of my own
- Custom entities that work in multiplayer
- I've never done it, and for some reason the documentation is RIDICULOUSLY lacking and inept in
this area from what search results I've seen.
- A fix for stupid Silverfish that don't know how to deal damage in Beta 1.8
= Hard to add features that I would understand it if they weren't possible to add =
- A way for me as a mod developer to bypass the block ID limit
- A way for me as a mod developer to bypass the item ID limit
- A way for me as a mod developer to add more graphics atlasses for blocks and items than the usual ModLoader limit
- A fix for wooden slabs so that you can properly break them with an axe
- This was suggested to me by a friend in the earlier than 2026 NBODE days, however that idea wasn't new
because I've wanted the feature for a very long time.
- This would purposefully be much better in use than the way we usually set up banners and wall maps. And those two
things aren't even in Beta.
= Hard to make features that I wouldn't be pissed off about but would be heartbroken if it turned
out I couldn't pull them off =
- An addition of the original 13 music discs that are in fact part of Minecraft Beta's code, to become usable
- A very special new Redstone innovation
- A way for players to design their own paintings in-game and hang them on walls
Remember that none of these things are promises, just things I want.
