Cobbledump
Cobbledump was and is a 2016-born Minecraft and let's play channel that was terminated in 2019, to be brought back in 2026. It updated
frequently for most of its old lifespan, and at the time of its dismount it had 140 videos. Now, those videos are back, embedded on this website and not just
hosted on another.
Now, Cobbledump is starting to come back. A 141st video is now released.
The goal now is to make more videos for Cobbledump, and hopefully not invoke the wrath of paid video hosting costs on my newfound service.
Shockingly, microphone audio issues exist in a lot of episodes. That was one reason I was compelled to give Cobbledump an upgrade of new episodes, and I think the new 141st video
is absolved from that.
Much of it in the 2010's was caused in editing by a serious mistake of misjudging the volume levels and overcompensating before renders. They were both good microphones.
The overarching idea behind the broken framerate of months old is that my computer back then was bad, causing some frame drops in the recorder, and the game was actually
screwing up its responsiveness as I played sometimes as well. You can even hear the man getting angry at the game seizing up.
So, Cobbledump is able to produce new videos now. Even if they are infrequent, because of what's going on in life and other projects I want to finish, like that video game
Gwendley Home. I know it can't be as good as the original era's glory. I'm a bit concerned about hosting costs now too. This channel could be slow and scarce for a while, but
if it's reasonably possible at all I do absolutely want to continue and finish off Mine Zealand and the other two large series that are here. Though the preset series is
persistently segmented and doesn't really have a final end. MAATNV has lots to do itself. Mine Zealand only has one new episode left to make on it, which has been stalled
and in planning at this point for years.
Scroll down to watch Cobbledump now!
(Alternatively, you can watch the playlist for the original main 140 on The Internet Archive.)
By the way, I used that Minecraft Alpha title thinking it was crafty back then, but I hate the common
usages I see of the word "nostalgia" now. I wasn't thinking very clearly when I came up with it. The
way our society uses that word is a mess and I was part of that in 2016. I played Minecraft Alpha then because
I wanted a small goal-oriented series. Minecraft Alpha was all I could get when I first played the game,
and so I played it out of necessity at that point and the world that actually has my history in it is
deleted. Now if I play Minecraft Alpha it's because the version is good. I wish to change the series
title. Fond memories of the game have nothing to do with it.
That being said, I'm perfectly chill with you guys calling this stuff 'nostalgic'. Because it kind of is.
